Understanding the new USCIS deference policy that revokes the long-standing guidance issued during the Trump administration during 2004. The earlier guidance required treatment of the H1-B, L1 and other employment-based nonimmigrant visa extensions as a new application. This treatment under the previous policy required applicants to submit more additional documents ( also known as Request for evidence – RFE ) and increased the administrative cost for the employers and the chances of denial in some cases. Prashanthi speaks about the benefits of the new deference policy and how it is going to benefit applicants filing for extensions and employers.
