US plan to hike skilled work-visa holders' wages to hit H-1B visa applicants

The US Department of Labour’s proposal to increase wages of skilled work visa holders could result in a sizable reduction in future visa applications and could eliminate mid-level jobs for H-1B visa holders. The White House budget office is reviewing a fast-track regulation that would narrow the definition of a “speciality occupation” eligible for a skilled-worker visa under the H-1B program, according to the budget office website. City-origin employer's plea asking for H-1B visa holders to  return to country

A city-origin employer in the US is behind a petition to the White House asking for H-1B holders to be allowed to return to the country. The petition on 'We the People', by Dan Nadan, CEO of Hire IT People, Inc aims to allow all H-1B holders back once the consulates open up following the pandemic.
