- Ability to travel using a U.S. passport.
- Multiple options to sponsor family members with U.S. immigration benefits.
- The advantage of availing citizenship for children born outside the U.S.

Exceptions To The Naturalization Process?
If you are a student and depend financially on your parents, you can apply for naturalization where your family lives or your school.Due to their time and age as an LPR, certain applicants are excluded from taking the English test for naturalization and may instead opt for the civics test in the language of their choice.
Application Process?
The process of Naturalization primarily consists of three main steps:
- Filing Form N-400: You must fill in the N-400 form with USCIS via online or paper application to begin the application process.
- Attending Biometrics Appointment: Following the process, you’ll receive a mail for attending a mandatory biometrics appointment, post 4 to 6 weeks after filing the Form N-400.
- Attending Naturalization Interview: Once done with the second step, applicants are then invited to participate in the naturalization interview, where you’ll have to answer various questions about your application. Here, you’ll also perform your English proficiency test as well as your civics test.
- Oath of Allegiance Ceremony: Following the Naturalization process, the applicants are then invited to attend an Oath-taking ceremony where you oath to defend and support the constitution, among other things.
- Once the process is concluded, applicants then receive their Certificate of Naturalization.
Processing Time for Naturalization
Since the final step in the process of Naturalization as a U.S. Citizen requires you to be sworn in as a U.S. citizen during the Oath of Allegiance ceremony, the process becomes time-consuming. It might take anywhere between 18.5 to 24 months before you become a U.S. citizen.
