The US Department of State (USDOS) has published August Visa Bulletin. Every month, the USDOS publishes Visa Bulletin that provides information about the cut-off dates to immigrants who have applied and are waiting to migrate to US under different immigrant visas. The main highlight of the August Visa Bulletin for Family-sponsored is that the F2A cut-off date has become “Current” for all counties including India, and is expected to remain so for the next several months. USDOS has taken this action in an effort to generate an increased level of demand. Because, the DOS has observed that despite the fact that there are large amounts of registered F2A demand, currently there are not enough applicants who are actively pursuing final action on their case to fully utilize all of the available numbers. The cut-off date for India under F1 relative is September 1st, 2006; for F2B relatives it is December 1st, 2005; for F3 relatives it is December 8th, 2002; and for F4 relatives it is June 22, 2001.
Under the employment-based category, the first preference cut-off date is “Current” for all countries including India. Under the Second preference, the cut-off date for India is January 1st, 2008. It is a significant jump from last month cut-off dates, in July the cut-off date for India under Second preference was September 1st 2004. The USDOS has mentioned that the cut-off date for India under Second Preference has been advanced in an effort to fully utilize the numbers available under the overall Employment Second preference annual limit. DOS expect that this movement will generate a significant amount of new India demand during the coming months.
There is no change in the cut-off dates for India under Third preference. The cut-off date has remained on January 22nd, 2003 for August as it was in July Visa Bulletin.
