USCIS Processing time Backlog Reduction Initiative In a recent public dialogue on 18 May 2022, USCIS spoke about the rising delays in processing times leading to application backlogs, which aggravated during the period of COVID -19 due to office closures and the non-availability of resources. As per USCIS’s data, the backlog numbers were 2.5 million in 2019, which doubled in 2020, and the number went as high as 5.1 million. During the public dialogue, the USCIS team spoke about the initiatives they are taking to make the process more effective and the goals they plan to achieve. June 2022 Visa bulletin USCIS came with the June 2022 visa on 6 May 2022. The final action dates for Indian nationals for the EB-2 category advanced by a year, while most other dates remain unchanged for Indian and Chinese nationals.
