That issue might be because there was no space on the approval to write the full name. I dint think it should be an issue. As long as you have proof of identify that you are the same person on the approval which you will have with your passport.
My name is Venkata Sai Bhargav Bathini. I filled a H1B visa application and USCIS sent and H1B Approval Notice(I-797A Notice of Action). However, I noticed a minor discrepancy in the approval notice—the letter “V” at the end is missing from the end of my first name, “VENKATA SAI BHARGAV” – it appears as VENKATA SAI BHARGA (actual VENKATA SAI BHARGAV). I have an appointment scheduled for visa stamping on November 15th.
