If you don’t have a job you cannot extend your h-2b. You couid change status to a B-2 or F-1 or some other status that is appropriate to your circumstances. Or you can leave and come back on h-2b when you have another job.
Hello, I have H2B Visa- in country working right now. My visa ends on the 25th of October but I can stay in the country 2 and a half years more(in total 3 years for H2B, only 6 months spent). All I need is to make an extension to find a new job but I could not. HR told me I have to leave the country at that time cause I could not find a job what I want and petition duration is over she said. I wanted to make sure what is going on and ask you any possibility that I can extend my visa duration until I find a job I want or what kind of procedure should I go through? I would like to clear out everything soon before my visa ends.Thank you for your time
